Sharing folders to SkyDrive?

SkyDrive app on Windows 7

Instructions say to drag folders to the SkyDrive folder.

But if you copy a 5GB folder of photos, it makes a 2nd copy on your HD.

Is there a way to simply share/sync a PC-based folder to SkyDrive without creating 2 copies on your HD? I have limited space on the HD.

What I did was change the location of the default folders to the Skydrive folder. It works fine for me.
