They did not evacuate for about 90 seconds on pilots' orders, then asked again when one of the cabin crew noticed a fire out over one of the wings, then I believe they got clearance to evacuate. New York would be very fortunate to have both of those men involved in their politics, because regardless of their past they're good at what they do.<br><br>Now, having said that, if this were Canada, they would still be in office or have returned to public office a whole lot sooner. I think most runway accidents are overshoots where they run off the end of <br>the runways.<br><br> </p></div>Not really a biggie to do.<br>Half a dozen or so CCTV cameras per runway feeding into a DVR - $799 for the set at Costco ;-)<br>US Navy video's all landings/takeoffs on their carriers.<br><br>Residents of the apartment towers lining Hong Kong's old Kai Tak airport would video just about everything - though it was a bit easier there due to having just one runway.]]></description>
