I saw that...

If I check my modems info I have this version:

Software Version: SB4100-4.0.11-SCM07-NOSHELL

The OOL one was 4.4. I wonder if we could contact a higher tech and get him to have a firmware push to the surfboards. From what I know the surfboards arent leaving because they need them to maintain the network for a new system that is supposedly debuting in 2004.

Wouldn't that be nice. From what I've read, the updated firmware bumps download speed considerably as well. Shaw isn't quite as on the ball as OOL though. One of there techs was in their forum here taking down macs for the push.
