Art Bell returning to radio, on SXM. |

For those of you that don't have a Sirius or XM radio, have heart, you can sign up for the internet only service for about the same price supposedly. And on artbelldotcom there is a link for 30 days free service (but you have to give a credit card number). The show will be called Dark Matters. This will be great considering the crappy things that have happened to coasttocoastam over the years (such as John *B* Wells replacing Ian Punnet.
Art's show will "air" at 10 PM Eastern time for 3 hours and run from Monday through Thursday. Art Bell is a pro compared to George Snoory... |

Frankly, I don't see it that way, that they only place he could get on was XM. XM-Sirius is probably the best forum FOR him, and I'm sure he could have easily gone back to AM radio, but it would have been the same old stuff. With Satellite he will be uncensored and untethered with producers harassing him with how the show is done and what direction it goes. That is the problem with CoasttoCoastAM, the production and owners of the show are dictating things about the show that is helping ruin it. That and the idiots George Noory and John B. Wells. Wells is an extremist with bizarre views that are quite frankly, assinine quite often. I miss Ian Punnet and Art Bell, the earliest two of the show. George Knapp is pretty cool too.
I don't know if there will be commercials, but even if there are, they will be for products like CCrane, which won't bother me. Art will be able to do his thing and do it well, and you don't have to buy a radio, if you have a computer, tablet, smartphone, or webradio, you can subscribe that way. This is kinda like all dogs go to Heaven, it's prexactly where Art needs to be, except hopefully there will be a streamlink like option at some point and somehow he will go international.
I would also like to see how his wife and child are doing these days (Art, like me, has a spouse from the Philippines and they are evidently happy). |

Re: Art Bell returning to radio, on SXM.George Noory doesn't bother me at all, John B Wells can get annoying if the guest sucks. *puts tin foil hat back on* |

I've been listening to the show... it is almost identical to Coast to Coast AM, including the announcer, format of the bumper music and some of the sound effects.
It's still nice to hear W6OBB back on "extra terrestrial" radio though. |

Art asks more intelligent questions, and challenges guests, whereas Noory is too compliant and accepting of guest's assertions, and he's not as bright as Art. And Art tries to stay away from politics for the most part, and he's more centrist and not as dogmatic.
What I am now hoping for is they get Whitley Strieber or somehow Ian Punnet's tinnitus problems miraculously heals, or some other intelligent host comes on for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday time slots. |

...and now Art Bell is off the air(running reruns) over the dispute of SXM Streaming being utter garbage for both North American & overseas listeners and he doesn't want to only have [[sarcasm]]rednecks, truck drivers & rural[[sarcasm]] type callers. Considering Sirius/XM is "North American", unless Art Bell revises his contract for 3rd party streaming(SXM gets a cut) he'll be screwed. Before the merger when streaming was included with physical radio subscription, it never cut off every 2 hours and was extremely stable--I would use it via T-Mobile EDGE on a lowly HTC Wizard(aka TMO MDA/Cingular 8125). It boggles the mind of why management wanted to change/screw up the streaming service which worked. Looks like I'm back to listening to raving mad Clyde Lewis on KXL edit: shouldn't use the fake sarcasm tag |
