[Cable] TSI BC SB6120 Hiccups

My modem needs a power cycle every few days. The connection goes on and off until I do a power cycle on it. The fix lasts around few days and then it needs the reset again. It is annoying. Can someone suggest a solution? Thanks.

Please post a screenshot of the Signals page at »192.168.100.1. Not much can be said without seeing that.

Might as well post your firmware version too. Sorry, but I don't know anything about Shaw requirements, so I have no information about upgrades or correct versions or whatever.

It may be hard for the user to post stats as Shaw like Vidoetron, prevent users for accessing their stats. The only way to get them would be if there is no Coax cable plugged in.

Haha, right.. I think I knew that at one point. Static IP doesn't help, right? Can you see line stats using an unprovisioned modem? Obviously stats reported before fully synced are not particularly useful.

Yes, I can't access my modem console page once it is connected. I need to reset at least around 3 times a month. It doesn't happen when I was with Shaw using their modem before. My speed is >11 mbps testing against speedtest.net.

able to trade modems with a friend or neighbor temporarily? see if the problem stays with your line or if it follows the modem?

sounds like a modem issue

Your modem from Shaw before was Docsis 2? Like a SB5102 or whatever? This hints at a slightly weak upstream signal. Docsis 2 can handle it, but Docsis 3 can't.

Of course there are several other possibilities. You really just have to open a ticket and get a technician out to take a look.

(EDIT: trading modems with a friend is for sure good troubleshooting. I'd want to do it for my own knowledge, but may not be any point for you, because you need a technician regardless)
