RCN → [Connectivity] RCN Modem(s) keep resetting after 4 service calls

I've had four different techs out over the past 6 weeks and have had my modem replaced three times. I went from a cisco to an arris back to a cisco modem. The techs said I was getting a signal when he was over while the modem reset and said "there was nothing else he could do". Also, the techs do not see my router on their system. They keep seeing an apple device. Do you know why they would be seeing an apple device? I have a linksys router as well. Everything seems to be hooked up properly.

Can you set up the simplest possible configuration. Hook up your modem to the point of entry to your house, before any splits, and don't connect any TV's, routers or TIVO boxes. Just the modem and a laptop view ethernet.
What are your readings with this configuration »192.168.100.1/ ?
