So is Arne saying that in order to split a Call Flow into 2 or more sections, that you must use an 'Extension' module for each, and then make a branch Call Flow for each of them ?

Yes.

Thanks, Arne.

I THOUGHT you were on Vacation !

So to actually use an extension Call Flow which I have created, I would need to set up a virtual extension in my account's portal, right ?

How many virtual extensions are allowed on a Free subscription, or on other levels, for that matter ?

And can I use the same destination for my extension call flow as my main one ?

(in my test examples, I would be wish to ringing the same ATA channel and usinf the same VoiceMail box)

SPLITTING a Call Flow

MAIN Call Flow

Pesky Caller Processing Branch

OK, the most recent previous example which I posted upthread required 11 modules, which I understand would cost Free subscription users an extra 5 cents for the 11th module, each time that THAT Call Flow was executed by an incoming call.

In the above 2 pics, I show my attempt to split up the tasks so that we do not exceed 10 modules per Call Flow, and as you can see, I barely made it, as there seems to be a need for duplication of the starting and finishing modules when a CF gets split in two, plus adding the extension module to the main CF.

This means that we do not save as many modules as we would anticpate by splitting the Call Flow.

And remember that the purpose of the 2nd part of this exercise is to allow the 'Pesky Caller' to only ring the phone on every 3rd try.

Also, same as in the earlier examples, if this caller blocks their number when calling in, the Main Call Flow still figures it to be THEM, and sends that call to the 'PCP' branch/extension Call Flow anyway, rather than letting the call thru every time.

I have still not so far addressed the once per week default suggested by the OP.

AND, most important of all, I have not TESTED this corncoction yet.

I'm learning a lot here. Thats was really the point of the question. I wanted to see how something like that might look on a call flow. Where do I go to learn about the variables and how to use them?

Actually, so am I.

As for variables, there is a page where Anveo lists the variables which THEY normally use and generate while processing our calls, and I have to check to see whether/where I have bookmarked it.

The page was mentioned by someone else in a thread which I began earlier this year.

If I can find it, I'll post the link.

The maximum number of extensions technically possible is 9,999 as an extension number is limited to 4 digits.

If you need more extensions you can just add a sub-account and you can have another 9,999 extensions.

I have no idea how many extensions you are allowed to have on a Free Account, but I have a feeling you will receive an email from support if you try to add thousands of extensions.
