Re: Police use taser on 80-year-old woman in MississaugaI'll ask this for information. Down here there have been many lawyers who fought against the establishment, and who worked to protect the constitutional rights of the people. Men such as Clarence Darrow, Thurgood Marshall, William Kunstler, Ron Kuby.... Who are their Canadian counterparts? Certainly Frank Scott would be one.... » www.historyofrights.com/ ··· ott.htmlWhere are the Frank Scotts of today, to sue the asses off of the Peel Police? |

Although a little 'trigger happy' with his words, Ontario Ombudsman André Marin might be a little like that. He's not afraid to use social media to criticize, and re-tweet what others say about authority. |

He's not afraid to use social media to criticize, and re-tweet what others say about authority. Police have arrested plenty of people and released their names to the media who were either framed or later proven innocent. Does that mean the cops are trigger happy as well? I dont know of the ombudsman exact wording whether he said the tweeters account was responsible for the tweets or that the officer whose name the account was in was responsible. I wouldnt be surprised if the cops are fabricating the whole story just to get dirt on the ombudsman. The main concern to me is what in the hell is a supposed cop doing framing one of his brothers. What the hell else is this cop doing if he is capable of doing that? Fabricating evidence, perjury or corruption? I guess we have nothing to worry about though the cops have launched yet another internal investigation we can all sleep at night. |

Except the police don't say "This person did this", they say "This person is charged with this", which is different.
Marin said that the cop did it. |

I have no problem with what Mr. Marin did. I wish more people were like him. Of course, the police want HIM to apologize for incorrectly naming the officer (and he did apologized), but the police have NOT apologized for telling everyone that he's a card carrying al-qaeda member.
One thing though, the police in Ontario are becoming more corrupt every day, and something needs to be done about it. |

Marin said that the cop did it. If that is what he said then his advisors are imbeciles and quite frankly he should have known better. Still though its nowhere near as bad as the cops are making it out to be. The cops no doubt welcome the distraction from their neverending FUs. |

Marin said that the cop did it. If somebody hijacks your account here and says something, what would make me think it was (for example) DJ that did it and not you? |

It was a fake account created to fool people into believing that he was the other officer. Ultimately, he should have contacted DRP to have them investigate the source, rather than blurting out a name just because the Twitter account said it was the other guy. For an OMBUDSMAN, he has an obligation to protect the citizens from the government. The police officer that he named was not being protected when he started with the accusations. |
