I've been relatively lucky so far... Moved from DSLr to rCable in early Aug, seamlessly and had a few speed hiccups but so far no serious issues, which is why I'm here!

My Grandmothers connection is still down. I phoned into teksavvy but there was a recorded message that there was still a cable outage in London so I didn't wait to talk to a tech.

Even Rogers is affected now. My 25/2 is 0.9mbps down and 0.38mbps up. Looks like we're in for a bumpy ride till.............

You would actually still want to open a ticket with TekSavvy so that they report your grandmother's connection to Rogers'

Not everyone whom was out has come back up at once, so it will or has going to come down to dealing with individual connections. Perhaps TSI can confirm here but most that I have noticed that came back up have new IPs in a completely different block than they did before.

It was garbage in London all weekend for myself, last night finally saw some improvement.

The same thing seems to happen almost every single year, or has for the past few years. Students return and Rogers (I am a Rogers customer) suffers extreme slowdowns, outages, etc. This obviously affects TSI customers as well. Last time this occured I recall Rogers or TSI indicating it was a faulty link between to major hubs in the London area which Rogers eventually repaired. I think the infrastructure just isn't sufficient (regardless of vendor) to handle the burst of people coming online at once when the school year starts. Seems too consistent to be a conicidence imo.

As a side note I am in North London. I was at g/f's parents on Sunday in SW London and theirs (Rogers) was so unrealiable we drew the conclusion the network was over saturated, or something had failed. I saw the exact same transfer rates as you did and Sunday night it wouldn't hold transfer for more than 10 seconds. Last night speeds were increasing but nowhere near what I see all summer long.
