[Modem] DPC3825 has old firmware - can't view logI just replaced my DPC3825 at a Rogers store and got one with firmware DPC3825-v302r125531-110511a-ROG. I have Small Business Internet Pro.
The old DPC3825 had firmware DPC3825-v302r125533-111108a-ROG which appears to be newer, not older even though the new modem says it was manufactured 3/13 which is pretty recent.
The DOCSIS LOG tab that used to be right beside the DOCSIS WAN tab is now missing on the Status Page.
I log in with cusadmin, password.
Did my previous modem have newer firmware that allowed viewing the log?
Will the firmware update automatically? |

[Modem] Re: New DPC3825 - can't view DOCSIS log any longerThats interesting. I have the old firmware on mine still... I'll keep an eye out to see if they push this firmware to me as well. |

HiVolt, even though the modem I got said it was manufactured recently on 3/13 it looks like it has older, not newer, firmware - judging by the versions. |

They gave me one with old firmware, even though it says 03/13 for the date of manufacture.
I wonder if it will update itself online or if I should return it? I like seeing the logs to know what's going on. |

It might update overnight. |

Rogers had the habit of ordering modems where the customer had no access to the web interface or to a limited web interface. The old SA D2 modems would close the web interface as soon as it made connection to the network. Which made it pretty useless for the customer. It meant the cable operator had to pull the stats. Which the typical phone tech couldn't understand anyway! |

I wonder if I can ask Rogers to 'PUSH' the update to me, if it doesn't auto update?
I could ask, but I doubt any of them will know what I'm talking about, though. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you try a 30/30/30 reset (Google it.) to clear all settings and caches and then it would detect a firmware update when you plug it back in. Don't use Rogers so I don't know if that would work. |

Don't use Rogers so I don't know if that would work. The 30-30-30 reset is pointnless. NVRAM can be cleared with a simple checkbox. To resest the DPC3825, follow these instructions: RESET: A momentary pressing (1-2 seconds) of this switch reboots the EMTA. Pressing the switch for more than ten seconds first causes a reset-to-factory- default of all settings and then reboots the gateway CAUTION: The Reset button is for maintenance purposes only. Do not use unless instructed to do so by your cable service provider. Doing so may cause you to lose any cable modem settings you have selected. |

There is a new firmware in testing but it has not been pushed yet.

Source?
Any idea on when or even IF it'll be pushed onto our modems? |

Given I have firmware older than the November 2011 version that is currently available, when can I expect that version to get pushed out? Is it nightly? I didn't get it last night. |

[Modem] Re: DPC3825 has old firmware - can't view logI spoke to a tech at Rogers today who tried to factory reset the modem and push out the new firmware. It didn't work and he said that new firmware could only be pushed out in the Bloor and Scarborough areas.
I even took the modem home to try updating it at a different location from my office, but couldn't do it there either.
I don't really understand it. There have to be people getting these modems now, so why would they leave a May 2011 firmware on it when November 2011 was pushed out already to so many people?
Unless, its because they don't want them seeing the logs (disabled in the older firmware) or newer firmware is getting pushed out soon?
Any way to get the new firmware and my logs back on this DPC3825? |

I had this issue before, you need to wait a couple of days, tech support told me that after 2am thats when the firmware updates takes place, the system will catch that you dont have the new firmware yet. |
