Is this worth it?

Hi everyone --

I live in a pseudo-rural area (the mountains outside of Denver) and I'm thinking of getting either Hughes or Wild Blue. I have a DSL connection that peaks at 1MPS that I'd keep of for normal usage, but the slow speed makes downloading or watching Netflix unworkable. I had thought of getting one of the satellites to supplement it, so when I wanted to download things, I'd switch networks. I don't have the option of cell service or anything else for the foreseeable future.

I'm not really concerned with cost (it would be worth 150 a month or so for me), but reading the forums I'm starting to get a feel that doing this won't really help my downloading ability very much. Does my plan seem workable, or should I just move on with my life and slow, slow internet.

Thanks

Hughesnet: If you were a NEW customer you would have a 30 trial period.
The thing is with Hughes the data caps are sooo tight.

As for Wild Blue, I don't have any personal experience, but look into the details & availability of Exede12 in you area.
Exede having an unmetered late night free download period.
I'm sure you could get more Exede input on the Wild Blue forum.
