[Home Phone] Yes to dial tone, No to calling out

I have a problem. I have no dial tone still.

I cannot access the ata, its was hooked up modem to router, ata to route, and nothing. just a dial tone and was not able to dial out.

Right now its hooked up ata to modem, modem to router, router to laptop, and still nothing, just dial tone still not able to dial out.

I need to be able to use my phone. it is the only link that I have in case of emergency.

I was told to go to internet explorer and type in 192.168.2.1

Once into the grandstream device (192.168.2.1) go to the FXS

port1 tab at the top

Primary SIP Server: voip.teksavvy.com
SIP User ID: **********
Authenticate ID: **********
Authenticate Password: ********
Name: ********

However I can not even get onto the 192.168.2.1 ,, I get Internet Explorer cannot display the website message.

modem -> ata(wan port) then ata (lan port) -> router
is the grandstream from teksavvy? or did you buy your own?

cable modem? dsl? what model of modem?

a lot of DSL modems are modem/router devices which could cause problems for your ATA

depending on what modem you have, general advice would be to make sure though that it's plugged in from modem -> wan port on ATA then lan port on ata -> router

then unplug power on modem, and ata, plug back in modem, wait for solid lights/whatever lights should go solid then plug in power to ata

the grandstream will give off a dial tone if it sees internet access but it is deceiving because it actually doesn't mean it is properly connecting to the tektalk server

beyond that contact tech support if you can, otherwise more info is needed about your equip / modem to really be of any further help on here
