I think the original article misled me. I went to videotron store and was told my old 8300HD would show me the new 36 HD channels that will appear on the 4th of December.
I will just wait until the 4th and see for myself. |

It won't show you the new channel. The article was written by Fagstein, a The Gazette writer with an interview with Videotron's president. You think he is wrong and that an employee of that store where they did not get all the info yet probably is right?
You will need either the Cisco 8642 or the Samsung to get the new channels. It is technically impossible for your 8300HD to get mpeg4 compression. Nothing to wait and see for sorry. These are actual info not rumors anymore. |

+1 to mtlguy, the 8300HD and older boxes cannot, and will not support MPEG4.
None of the new channels will be available on boxes without that support. |
