Re: [Speed] Not getting new promised speeds. Router issue?

AGREE 100% New router or stay wired are the only choices.
BTW that's 54 Mbps is 27up and 27 down at the same time (marketing dept. being a little less than transparent, AGAIN!)

But my desktop is wired. Modem to Router to Desktop all via cables, no wireless. And still only getting ~20 Mbps.

sure, doesn't surprise me. like i said, it's probably getting maxed out.

if you're hell bent on it, MAYBE a later firmware on the wrt54g will help

what do you get wired direct to the modem (no router)?
If you NEVER get 50/10 call and be sure you have the correct firmware and config file. (ask them to push it again) if it only gets 25 with the router, the router is likely the problem (switching to new patch cords is the only hardware test)

The CPU / chipset / WAN to LAN throughput is low horsepower..
