Datagg posted : Kontos, you were Right..... Our host blocked our IP do to what they said "It looks like you were blocked due to too many failed sftp attempts.".... So why, this is the big question. All along i thought it was the router because each time i bypassed it for hard wired it loaded up. Now im more confused than ever, as im not sure what would cause that on my end. Great call though K0ntos, you were dead on with your thoughts.
Datagg posted : Thanks.. but what is so dang odd, that was the only site that didn't work.. and if indeed it was a IP issue, why when I hard wired the domain would work, yet in router it wouldn't... absolutely baffling. i hate issues when they just resolve themselves with no idea as to why, while all I can do is just wait for the day it decides to come back. What makes this so bad for me is this is a site I maintain company wise. the router I have has no DHCP release, well manually that is. i can set frequency, yet cant release/renew on the spot.

"Do you still have anything that might show the original router WAN IP to compare with to the currentone?"

--Regrettably no, i reset the router so many times those logs are gone.

Datagg posted : and that time is back again.... out of the blue, this began this morning. What I have done thus far, rebooted router, reinstalled firmware, flushed dns, unplugged router for about 15 minutes (thought perhaps heat). Doing a ping of this website (while through router) request times out, doing it hard wired by passing router, ping successful. Again, this site works while bypassing router, yet on wireless side (and through router) the site wont load yet all others do. All computers, even my cell phone on wireless end will not load that one site. Switching cell phone to not use wireless it loads right up... This issue is so odd, as its been what now, over a month since last post and all has been fine, then all of the sudden this morning it does this again. Perhaps i should just by a new router and be done with it. Again my router is a RT-N56U and of course a couple months past warranty.

EDIT... i tried to change DNS servers also, no change.. Getting positive ip address doing a nslookup also. Anyone have any ideas, this just makes no sense. Just about ready to take a hammer to this router... yet its only 1 site that wont load, which i need to have.. so damn!!!
--
Videocard: XFX 5970 BE
Processor: i7-920 @ 4.0
Mainboard: Asus P6T Deluxe
Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB(3 x 2GB)
Soundcard: Creative XiFi
PSU: Tt Toughpower 1200W

Datagg posted : Thanks tom. Cable here... i have 2 desktops, wired from router..and 2 on the wireless side including other devices. I have reset router probably 6 or more times thus far with no results. Even re flashed firmware to see if that helped. Wireless side wont work for that domain, yet neither will my 2 desktops wired directly from router... definitely the router blocking it, why i have no clue. It would be a much easier pill to swallow if the things stopped working altogether, yet just 1 domain, that has me baffled to no end. As for my neighbor, that was just me confirming the site loaded for others and it was just my end here. Have you seen this before Tom, where a great working router just decided to prevent 1 domain from loading while all else works great... i sure haven't, but i guess there is no other explanation at this point. Im trying to dig up warranty info as this was just bought last February..What a pain though as I am more than likely just going to have to buy a new one as this site i can't go without getting on. I could just hardwired to mine (as that worked testing), but then the other systems in the house that need wireless access wouldn't work... Cant have wires all over the place either... what a crazy situation this router is doing... Thanks Tom and all else who have tried to help.
--
Videocard: XFX 5970 BE
Processor: i7-920 @ 4.0
Mainboard: Asus P6T Deluxe
Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB(3 x 2GB)
Soundcard: Creative XiFi
PSU: Tt Toughpower 1200W

tomdlgns posted : does your office consist of a bunch of random computers or is there a domain server at the office that computers connect to (active directory).

it sounds like it is the router based on everything you said.

cable/dsl or other? what type of connection do you have.

how hard would it be to reset the router back to default in terms of making all the proper changes (wifi, any rules you might have had, etc...)? i would recommend writing down and important settings, reset the router to default and before you make any changes, try the site and see if it works.

what do you mean by your neighbor...same hub? i assume that means you both get internet from the same "hub" and each of you have your own modems.

FTP isnt working because the FTP IP address and your site IP are the same. if the site didnt work but FTP did that would just mean that port 80 is being blocked but that port 21 was open, however, it sounds like the entire ip/domain is blocked for you, anyway.

Datagg posted : Hi Tom. No modifications in router. This is actually my business and all day yesterday we were logged into the domain adding products... Later in the day, we couldn't access it. I thought at first it was my host, yet they replied back its working and loading. For us nothing though, yet all else worked wireless side and wired. Thought it was perhaps cox blocking for some reason, so I hooked from modem to my comp and it worked, so there went that thought. Took my cell phone out, which is hooked up to wireless and it wouldn't load either, so turned wireless off then tried data and it loaded... My next door neighbor, same hub, it loaded for them also, called my bro across town, cox also, it loaded... So i can say without a shadow of a doubt its the router. Lost as to what to do, I downgraded firmware, nothing.... went back to current, nothing. Whats the kicker in all of this is everything works great except for this 1 domain. heck even my FTP access to it wont load either. its like the RT-N56U decided to block that site and nothing else..Makes no sense. Issue for me now is im out of warranty on this router and since its my business I need to get back on so it looks like im going to have to buy a new router. What ticks me off is everything works, its not like the wireless is down and all else fails... just that one domain. This is just crazy.

Pinging site through router yields "request timed out", yet pinging with modem hardwired to computer is a success. Also tried pinging other sites with normal hookup and a reply from each was a success. Only the one domain yields no results through router while all else gets a positive ping.
--
Videocard: XFX 5970 BE
Processor: i7-920 @ 4.0
Mainboard: Asus P6T Deluxe
Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB(3 x 2GB)
Soundcard: Creative XiFi
PSU: Tt Toughpower 1200W

RT-N56u blocking domain... no idea why.

Datagg posted : My apologies, I posted this in another section and not sure if it was right...

Hello. I am having an issue that for the life of me cant figure out why its happening. Ill try to explain best I can. I have a domain/website that all of the sudden yesterday began not to load. This on my 2 desktops and laptop. FF and IE used. All other sites, emails etc work. My setup is 2 computers via wireless and 2 from router back to computers. Did the normal things to trouble shoot, unplugged router, modem, etc... Still that 1 site would not load up, yet all others things on wireless side would work minus this one domain.

Then I bypassed the router, ran directly to my computer and the domain worked, so now I know its not my ISP blocking anything. I finally reset the router figuring that would have to fix it, and it did not. I just cant figure this out. This is the first time i have ever seen this happen. Everything works on wireless side and wired side for all things minus 1 domain.

How can this be fixed... Its driving me nuts. This is one of my business websites so its vital I get in there. Anyone have any suggestions.

Thank you and happy new year
--
Videocard: XFX 5970 BE
Processor: i7-920 @ 4.0
Mainboard: Asus P6T Deluxe
Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB(3 x 2GB)
Soundcard: Creative XiFi
PSU: Tt Toughpower 1200W
