[Verizon] found phonemy son found a verizon phone while out jogging today, and when we try to dial 611, it says no SIM card is installed, but there is one inside of it. What can we do to try to help? It is password locked. |

Might want to call Verizon and see if they would have any way of contacting the owner (based on the phone's MEID).
Besides that, since the phone doesn't have any service available (due to the SIM issue), there won't be much you can do unless you manage to bypass the password lock. |

Take it to a store and let them figure who owns it. |

Take it to the NSA they know whose phone it is and where they live. Heck, they probably know that you have it too. |

Verizon is CDMA, they don't use SIMs. If the phone has a SIM, it's on a GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mob) |

CDMA doesn't but LTE does, including VZ and Sprint. |

Verizon LTE phones/devices and world phones do have sim cards. |
