Samsung HD DVR (SMT-H3272) Issue

I am recording 2 shows at once while watching a previously recorded show. When I completed the previously recorded show and deleted it from my DVR, one of the channels that is recording it completely black. I change the channel to my other DVR recording and the video is fine, but even when I return to the channel that is completely black, nothing has changed. Is one of the tuners going bad? Is that even possible?

But every day? I've only had this box for 2 weeks.

On my SMT-H3272, I've noticed quirks like this. For example, when I delete a recording I just watched, and the last channel remains black for a little bit. When I go to List, the % space used remains the same even after "deleting" the show I just watched, and then some seconds later magically the space is freed, the percentage drops, and video resumes.

To be sure, try watching that recording from the channel was completely black. I'd bet it didn't affect the recording. It's just an idiosyncrasy of this box and the firmware that is laid on top of it.

Also, I'd be curious if this works when the recorded channel is black: go to List, play the recording in progress on the black channel, and fast-forward to the end or press "Live" on the remote. That might work around this issue.

Where in your original post could I have known that? Open a direct forums thread and I'll get a tech out.

Well I rebooted the box and now the show is gone from my recorded list. It shows up now in the Recording Log stating "Not recorded because the channel was not available (8)". Noticed that I have additonal Black screen recordings that are gone as well for the same reason. Unfortunately the info button doesn't work on the recording log (like on my SD DVR) so I dont' know which episode was removed/not recorded. Is this another difference between the SD & HD DVRs?

Which confirms the need for the tech and no to the second part of the question.

I tried that before rebooting and sadly it didn't work.

This is either a signal issue or a bad box. BHNtechXpert can get it sorted out for you.
