As for switching off the wireless feature, you'd be doing a little more than that. You'd have to put the 505n into bridged mode. That way it will work only as a dumb modem.

And set up the isp login information into the linksys.

I was using a E3200 Linksys with Telus Service, which I bought and really liked... especially the 1gb connectivity and the fact that I could use DD-WRT firmware. I since moved and could no longer get Telus service.
The firmware for the 505n from Start only has 2 options for dynamic DNS and both are premium (DynDns and TZO).
So if I understand you correctly, I can switch off the wireless features on the 505N and the connect to the E3200, which can provide wifi, dynamic DNS service and the 1gb ports (even though the WAN interface will be 100Mbs which is more than with my 40Mbs connection line)? Thanks, this will be great news if I can!!

To the best of my knowledge, as modem choices, your only two options are either the 505n or a Sagemcom which was being used exclusively prior to the 505n 's arrival to the market. And a quick search on these forums will show that more people tend to prefer the 505n.

Which bring me to my point... what kind of issues have to been having? When you say that it's terrible, are you talking about the job it does as a modem? Or that as a router?

edit: perhaps I should reword... i meant does it have a "custom url DDNS field to use with any provider". This would be so that it could be used with authentication services such as Netflix DNS rerouters
