I'm kind of interested as well. I noticed only standard HSD was listed in the March 2014 pricing guide pamphlet I received. Also I could not locate it on the website. Only promos and combo deals. |

Absurd when you see it in front of you considering people in Seoul, South Korea are paying an average of $31.90 for 100 Mbps service and the average connection is 48.8 Mbps. |

plus tax and equipment Thanks. I guess we should also add on the fees. Effectively additionally $5 in CFL anyway. $4 for the modem and $1 for a paper bill. So for example Standard is now basically up to $59 a month now. There is also the late fee (which is your own fault if charged) of $6 here in CFL. So someone with a paper bill, modem rental, and who is late could conceivably be paying $65 a month for 10/1 internet from BHN after all fees. This excludes any additional taxes. |

plus tax and equipment There are a la carte prices which means you have no other services whatsoever. The vast majority of you will have at least one other product and will be in one promotion or the next thus reducing the individual cost per service and ultimately the bundle. |

I know. This is why i have asked how much it would cost for just High Speed Internet. The reason why i have asked this question is, because right now i have a promo deal for High Speed and wanted to know the standard pricing. |

There are no equipment lease fees if you get or buy your own. |

said by 47717768:There are no equipment lease fees if you get or buy your own. That is true. But if you buy your own whereas before it was included with the price before then you are still having to pay extra to actually use the service. You are simply paying it to someone else instead. For example when I had Earthlink with BHN at that time there was no modem charge (not sure if that is still true) and it was included. Right now it's still worth it to me to keep the leased modem at $4 / month. I figure about 2 years average life would about even out + no risk of failure/lightning strikes. But who knows if they will raise it to $5 or $6 next year. I wouldn't be shocked at all. So maybe I should just go ahead and buy one? I dunno. |

Buying your own for around $50, that is If you need DOCSIS 3.0 Modem. DOCSIS 2.0 versions could be purchased for under $30 with free shipping. This will save you more than $40 a year. |

I see the retail version for about $80 on Amazon so I guess I could save a little bit there. $4 * 24 months = $96. |

The only tiers available for D2 now are standard and lite. |

How long do you think it will be before DOCSIS 2.0 is eliminated entirely? |

I have to do the clarify that a bit because at the pace this industry is changing anything is possible. If I were anyone buying my own modem I would spend the extra bucks and just get the D3. |

Do what the majority of folks in our company have done and start right at the bottom and work up. It doesn't matter if you have network engineering experience or some other technical expertise because unless you have experience in HFC networks and billing systems you are a noob like everyone else . Learning the individual systems, quirks and behaviors takes a while and if you work hard and learn everything you possibly can on and off the job you will go far. Our company rewards longevity and hard work because the skills you learn along the way in many cases cannot be taught....like instinct...it takes years to get to the point where you can look at a situation and based on experience, training and just knowing how the plant lives and breathes come to the right conclusion. |
