Could be worseWell it could have been worse. I had to wait 4 months for Bell to set us up in the first place. (in cherry hill) Lucky I was home when he decided to knock on my door otherwise I think I would have had to wait another 4 months. So far the DSL has been working well, its only been a week. It was a painful wait and many many hours waiting on for PSN. I really hope this process gets better! |

Same here! My installation went very smoothly, my speeds were time-of-day dependent, but at least while needed (morning and mid-day, when my wife uses it for her business) my layer 3 speeds were close enough to theoretical layer 1 line throughput (120-135kbps vs. 144kbps) to blame the difference on packet overhead.
For the past 2 weeks though I have been connecting through my old 28.8kbps -- luckily I have not canceled my dial-up. As far as I can tell, my line is fit, but I am losing packets big time somewhere at the 3rd or 4th hop (came to that conclusion first manually, using ping and traceroute, then confirmed it using VisualRoute). The service became totally unusable.
I have two e-mails into PSN's support department, did not dare to call until now. Maybe should try to get in through NorthPoint's service department?...
