I finished the show watching all 13 episodes in a row.
Obviously the first thought was the eye candy that is Laura Vandervoort. First production values were 1st class, as a Canadian, our shows don't always meet what you see in the US, so I was pleasantly surprised. I was also pleased to see they didn't try to pretend it was some US city but rather addressed Toronto as Toronto (but Syracuse was really Hamilton)
The show kept me interested enough to watch all 13 episodes , unlike that train wreck, Agents of Shield. Yes as someone said, the fight scenes were pretty bad, but at the same time (outside of the "final battle") I couldn't see any stunt doubles.
The story line reminded me of Black Sails, less werewolves(pirates) , and more the politics of werewolves([pirates), pack rules, etc.
I'm always ready to suspend belief but in one scene a character is slashed, and is bleeding bad, and needs to get to the "pack house" , which is in a different country and (not accounting for border delays) is nearly 4hrs away. He didn't bleed out? Nobody questioned a person in the back of a car bleeding?
"Clay" reminded me far too much of Logan with the sideburns and hair , but hey they are both werewolves.
The woman that was "bedding" Cain, was bit, and what happened? We saw a scene where she was partially transformed. and that was it?
The Sheriff (ok it's a small town) was a bloody joke, a batch of murders in town all tied to the "Pack house" and she was rather lackadaisical about the whole thing.
If it's renewed would I watch it? If there is nothing else in my queue (and it's always quite full).
I wish they'd include the werewolf healing factor. Teen wolf uses it, to a point.
The CGI for the wolves wasn't that great, but I understand they lack the budget. I think one reason why Teen Wolf seems to use the "Man wolf" version of the werewolf more then the wolf version. Why must a werewolf look like a wolf? Even Dyson on Lost Girl looks like a wolf when he fully transforms. At least being Human did werewolves correctly, IMO.
I thought the show to be ok, and if it's picked up, fine.
Vandervoot is a trained martial artists. I don't think she is as skilled as the gal from Vikings [Ragner's first wife. That actress holds a couple of black belts and is a certified body guard]. But she may do alot of her own stunts due to her experience.

I'm not really crazy about the man-wolf version that Teen Wolf uses for most of the werewolves. I liked how Deucalion looked when transformed, but I think that Peter Hale looked the most bad ass in his Alpha form when he fully transformed. I don't know why they don't make them look more like that.
One doesn't hold "a couple of belts" but rather, dan grades. When practitioners have reached the ranking of first degree black belt, they become shodansha. The holder of a black belt of any degree is a yudansha, "one with dan".
The word dan literally means step or stage in Japanese, but is also used to refer to one's rank , grade or a phase of expertise.
Every kyu (grade) up to your shodan is just the fundamental basics. Once you become a shodansha then you can be recognized as a legitimate martial artist, and also become a licensed instructor.
