Had the Ultra package installed about 3 weeks ago.
Have had nothing but horrendous internet issues since.
Many calls to tech support and 3 tech visits later nothing fixed.
In a nutshell
Have a static WAN IP assigned to WAN Port of Gateway (done by WOW)
Cisco RV042 v3 router WAN side connected to Gateway LAN using a static LAN IP (192.168.0.254)
2 media players
Everyday internet slows down or goes out, a reset of the gateway will restore functionality.
Setup a network monitoring app to ping every minute/32 bytes:
1. www.google.com
2. MediaPlayerFamilyRoom
3. MediaPlayerKitchen
4. WAN Port Cisco (LAN of Gateway)
5. Knology Router
As the report will demonstrate there is issues on the WAN side of the Arris gateway.
99.9% of any timeouts on the LAN side of the Gateway are due to having to reset the Gateway to regain satisfactory internet connectivity or periods of troubleshooting.
Last information I was given is that maintenance will be dispatched to check Pole and such
Just about ready to pull the plug and go back to standard HD receiver.
