[CFL] Over the last week getting black screen for 1 to 2 sec

Watching a recorded show or just watching a show from a DVR unit at random time screen will go black for about 1 to 2 sec and then come right back. Also lose audio during the lost of screen.
seem to start over the last 2 weeks now. nothing at my end has changed. I did notice a update just before this started.

is it time to get a new DVR ?

Do you have a Google TV inbetween the TV and the box via HDMI by some chance? Or any other device?

I have actually noticed this too. This happens on my client box (not the main DVR) in my Whole Home DVR setup. At times it's been a black screen but goes away in 1-2 seconds. Another time it was a black screen with white text that read "Please wait..."

I do have my Yamha receiver that has always been there it happens if i have it on or in the pass thew mode with unit off.
I have not changed anything on my end. did the update change the HDMI settings ?

I have talked to an BH installer and he told me he is having the same problem at his house now.

Anytime this happens to me, it was usually one of two devices in line between the box and TV. I have a Logitech Revue (Google TV box) AND a receiver in the middle. My receiver is rarely the problem, but there have been a few times I've had to actually unplug the receiver from power and reboot it to correct minor hiccups like you have.

I need you to remove the Yamaha temporarily just to be sure and get back with me.... Your post is vague...need specifics....complete description of the problem along with your box make/model/ tv make/model etc.

I have a direct connection of the box to the TV and this occurs from time to time. It started after the new HD guide update but usually clears up in a few seconds so I haven't gone any further with it.

I understand. If it turns out to be a non-service related issue please let me know. Thanks.

Guys....different issues and technology in play here....do not confuse or combine them please. Open your own thread and I will treat them individually.

The trick is, what does the "Please wait..." look like? Does it have the font/color that might indicate it was generated by your TV or by the cable box? Some TV's HDMI signal lost message will say "Please Wait"

The message is definitely from cable box and not an 'acquiring signal' message from my TV.

DVR is 8642HDC and TV is LG 55LM6400 Yamaha is RX-V671
I could not get the HDMI cable to work on any other port on the TV until i had to power off the DVR.
The problem is maybe once in an hour the screen will go black for about 1 sec and come right back on.
The audio also stops.
after power cycle last night have not seen problem yet but have not watch that much TV last night.
will report back when it happens again. (power cycle may of fix issue) This unit is becoming a pain to have to unplug the box every couple weeks. I have missed recording of shows just hope it does not happen when 24 is on.

I really need you to unplug the Yamaha for a bit and just run directly to the TV for me....just a few days.
