The problem is maybe once in an hour the screen will go black for about 1 sec and come right back on.
The audio also stops.
after power cycle last night have not seen problem yet but have not watch that much TV last night.
will report back when it happens again. (power cycle may of fix issue) This unit is becoming a pain to have to unplug the box every couple weeks. I have actually noticed this too. This happens on my client box (not the main DVR) in my Whole Home DVR setup. At times it's been a black screen but goes away in 1-2 seconds. Another time it was a black screen with white text that read "Please wait..."

The trick is, what does the "Please wait..." look like? Does it have the font/color that might indicate it was generated by your TV or by the cable box? I have a direct connection of the box to the TV and this occurs from time to time. It started after the new HD guide update but usually clears up in a few seconds so I haven't gone any further with it.

I need you to remove the Yamaha temporarily just to be sure and get back with me.... Your post is vague...need specifics....complete description of the problem along with your box make/model/ tv make/model etc.
