said by TSI Gabe:QC Cable routing is going to change soon to terminate in Montreal. It was in fact routed through there for a short few days it but ran into problems with Videotron.
Geo location for QC Cable should work properly as it is a completely separate subnet.
The issue currently is with DSL where we have less control over knowing where exactly the session comes from and attributing the correct IP pool for it.
My regular router gets an IP from the 198.x.y.z subnet, which geolocates in Toronto, while another router (I swap them from time to time for development purposes) gets an IP from the 24.x.y.z subnet (which geolocates in Montreal).
Can I assume that Montrealers will eventually all get an IP from the 24.x.y.z subnet once the routing gets changed, or will the 135.x.y.z subnet ARIN record eventually be changed?
EDIT: Corrected IP
EDIT2: Interesting. That allocation is named TS1-Rogers according to ARIN, yet I am on Videotron in Montreal.
