That is total BS, the wait as well as they wouldn't give you the modem. They did look at me like I was crazy for wanting it (i had my own modem prior) saying that the area was not ready yet, but they still gave it to me.
Unless my posting in this forum has somehow has raised a red flag and somehow gotten them reprimanded and told not to hand them out to anyone else.
I recd a call/vm from TWC engineering today, they said the upgrades are not complete yet for this area and that is why i am getting the strange speeds. The person said that on the 23rd letters are going out to update everyone as to progress and timelines for completion.
I went back and asked again and they gave me the 1670, the download speed has definitely increased but it seems to fluctuate, sometimes more sometimes less.
