Re: [Speed] Comcast 2014 Side Discussion about Doubling Speeds

I love how Comcast has to take forever to get it to ca. We have 8 downstream 4 upstream there's enough bandwidth let's get it together Comcast. Slackers

We just have 3 upstream channels here on the Ukiah CMTS, but 8 downstream channels.

I live an hour north of San Francisco and I get an average of over 50 mbps down and 13 up through Comcast and this is since the upgraded their speed about a year ago. I pay for the blast internet that is advertised to get up to 50 mbps download. I really doubt if Uverse would ever actually get anywhere near 36 mbps.

U-Verse pulls a top speed of 45/6 if memory serves. If they can manage to pull a stable 100 out of the hardware, I'll be surprised and change my tune.

But I doubt it, since even if they do, Comcast has already wiped the floor with them.

U-verse really only try's to match Time warner cable speed wise. Due to in most places the 45/6 package is priced the same or lower than the Time warner cable 50/5 plan. (Yes Time warner cable has 100/5 in some places but most still don't have it yet. Then maxx is only in 3 citys.)
