Re: [Speed] Dead Horses and Throttling

OP, i cant tell you how many times I felt the same way. Fortunately I later came to the realization that it was the software/config i had set up, one way or another.
What systems are you using for clients?
I noticed that the stock config of win7 with winscp gave me slow transfers at the onset. Had to tweak some settings for the send/receive windows.
Something similar may be happening on your set-up.
All in all my experience is that non-windows systems have more robust network performance, all things considered.

Windows ain't any where in this scenario.

My home server is a Sun X4170 that mounts large volumes from a Sun Storage 7110 Cluster. I ditched Solaris on this a long time ago and am now running Debian 7.4 (Wheezy).

The remote server is a Gentoo Base System release 2.2 system.
