Weather42 posted : I've been without dialtone on my Verizon POTS line for 6 days. They first try to get me to switch to VoiceLink (no!) and then gave me an appt 10 days out. A tech showed up 2 days after I report it, checks to see if fiber is available (no!) confirms it is an outside cable problem (which I already figured based on history here) but couldn't find a good spare pair. He turned it over to a cable crew, and was optimistic it would be worked that day. Well 3 days later still down and when I called I was told it will be Monday before the cable crew works it.
This line goes out or gets very noisy about once every 1-2 years. And I live in suburbia about 3 miles from a fairly large CO.
