Looks like we're heading back to Rogers ;-(

Despite tech support telling me that Teksavvy/Bell will bring a DSL pair inside the building for a new installation; sales are telling me all they do is install service to the outside of the property.

This is crazy.

:-(

Back to tech support. They are saying - "YES - for VDSL - the service should be installed to a VDSL splitter INSIDE the house". They are double checking.

Wow - an amazing tech support rep at Teksavvy just called Bell to get them to follow-up.

Finger's crossed I may yet get the problem fixed.

For vdsl, they will install the service to at least one working jack (or install one if one doesn't exist) and will also install a pots splitter.

They should. If not, let us know and we will escalate.

thanks Andre - I just spoke with an amazing tech who really knows his stuff at Teksavvy. He phoned the repair centre at Bell and says they are going to come back out. Maybe Bell crimped a cable or caused a problem when they replaced the 'protector' this morning.

Not for DSL 7 or DSL 15/1? I thought the POTs splitter plus surface run thing worked for everything except legacy GAS, aka DSL 6?

The stupidity of this 6 levels of DSL service thing is really trying. I just had a good customer switch from regular to dry loop in June, and now wants to upgrade to DSL 15. Problem is, for some reason, in June he went to DSL 6 Dry instead of DSL7 Dry. Now he's on the hook for a full $50 to go to DSL 15..

I'll give $50 to whomever can fix my service back to the way it was earlier this week (Bell or Teksavvy)!

Pots is installed for anything except 6.

Unless it's already on the same technology. Like going from 7 to 15 or 25 to 50

Stay with Teksavvy/TPIA/Wholesale/GAS. You save money. Rogers and bell are more expensive and the costs of running the service is higher. Bell/Rogers will only mess with the line if you don't have television so keep basic cable or basic satellite. Do not mind the installation cost and the cost of purchasing a modem, it is only one time. My experience.

Well - it's not looking good. Bell Called me last night after Teksavvy called them. Bell told me they were coming today between 8 and noon. Unfortunately no sign of Bell today. ;-(

I see notes that indicate that due to Bell work load the dispatch was change on us form 8-12 to an 8-5. We are just finding out about this now.

Bring it to the highest level of authority, the CEO of Bell Canada. Force your way up, these service people (customer service) do nothing to help you. BTW the big companies force small business isp's to use big guy's infrastructure. Through the use of patents. It's Important not to give a s*** about big telecoms showing up late for installation.

Story of my live. Moved 3 times with TS. Bell always screwed it up.

Just hang tight. When the dust clears, you'll forget all about it. (until you moved again...)
