There is a good gap under that 2x4 and no nails sticking through it. The injury to the cable is 4-5" away from the 2x4. Lightning strike.....I was told that the chimney had been repaired due to a strike a few years ago. This chimney is about 15 feet away from this damage, so why this cable and not more serious damage ? Also the blown in insulation seems to be unmarked, almost like it was blown in after. A most curious find from a "simple" no ground.
