bbq727 posted : Set your BHN box to 720p, I was having the same problem with my XBOX One and this handled it for me. It wasn't a box problem for me because it would work if I didn't use the Xbox one as a pass-through but for some odd reason the Xbox didn't like being set to 1080I. Try also holding the Xbox one button on the Xbox for 10-15 seconds or until it turns off, this does a hard reset and can handle some issues. Lastly, if the box will not work on that TV but will work on another TV in the house I am going to say that HDMI port is going bad.

allowiches posted : You have to be VERY method-logical in your testing to figure out where your problem lies. For example: Does gaming and other applications work okay with the xbox over HDMI? Does the BHN box work okay when hooked up directly to the TV over HDMI? If both do not then suspect the TV or HDMI cable. Replace the cable and try again. If your TV has another HDMI input try it (them).

If only the BHN box has trouble then replace the HDMI cable.
twalls posted : Is this a "smart" TV? I know mine can pull firmware updates if it is plugged in with an Ethernet cable, though it supposedly doesn't if connected using Wi-Fi. Depending on a variety of compatibility factors, it might even get an Internet connection through the HDMI cable. This would explain why the TV might exhibit different behavior now than in the past (firmware update broke something). Also, sorry if already mentioned, but have you tried a simple cable swap to make sure cable isn't wonky for whatever reason?

RPFerg posted : This is something that has been an issue for months. Please bare with me. It's complicated, to me. Have been using an HDMI connection for five years. Got the XBox ONE a year ago and used the XB1 pass through connection. Worked for all this time. The last three months though, when going to the XB1 dashboard as usual, the picture would stutter and we would see a pop up box referring to our TV not being compatible for HDMI. huh?? We would reboot the TV and XBox and the picture would come back. Until two weeks ago. No matter what we did, no picture. Tech came out, tried ten different things. We have the Cisco 8300HD. He tried an SA box, nothing. Even without the XBox, we still could not get a picture using HDMI!? huh?!?! The final solution, undo the HDMI we were using and go with a component connection.
What happened?? After five years of never an issue, all of a sudden the TV became incompatible? Does anyone else have the XBox ONE and use the HDMI pass thru?
