A bit of a stretch in some areas. I have heard that some areas people can pick up 30+ (around La close to 100) OTA channels and their subs.

Do you really want Verizon to add that "hopefully soon?" I believe that is one of the .TV channels we don't have.

No one's commented here since Dec (2014). This weekend there was a scroll on 503 (ME-TV) that they are being forced by the FCC to move their OTA channel to 33.1 (from 3.10) on Monday March 16th 2015. Just an FYI

We got Verizon to map the 3/503 correctly. Now I have removed 3/503 from my favorites. I don't think it's coming back too soon. Not at 3/503 for sure. Maybe never.

WJLP is back on the air, still on channel 3-10. According to their Facebook page they have been restored until December 1. There is no information about what happens after that. They have not been restored back on Fios yet.

This was posted by a highly knowledgeable member at AVSForum (Trip in VA), and pretty much nails it. As long as the FCC feels there is a signal overlap, then two stations cannot share the same channel number. FCC ruled that WJLP does overlap coverage with WFSB in CT and KYW in PA, and therefore cannot use channel 3 since they already do.

WJLP Probably feels since there is no interference, it is up to those who filed a complaint to first "win" their case, before JLP has to actually be forced move from PSIP "3.10" to a UHF PSIP channel number & are now waiting to see if they can return OTA as 3.10 in the interim...
Even if they lose, that's not an unreasonable position ...

We will see what eventually happens .....
WJLP does have a couple of valid points in their rebuttal, & may get a decision in their favor ...
1) - The congressional 1980's rule/law that requires the FCC to grant Delaware & NJ an immediate Licence for an OTA "VHF" channel, would seem to be moot, if an out of state entity can then force the VHF NJ station off their licensed VHF ch's PSIP, & onto a UHF identifier ....
2) - WJLP already gave up voluntarily any must-carry requirements for their station in CT.
In reality, any "true" FCC recognized overlap area would be mostly way in the Philly or Hartford primary area anyway, & only those who have relatively large and/or rotateable VHF capable outdoor directional antennas would get a signal from JLP 3.10, & when rotated away from the other ch 3.1, & these relatively few OTA TV "techie's" aren't stupid, & would not be confused as to what they are receiving ....

My guess is this will be a long battle. If they wanted to go down easy they would have just moved to virtual 33-1. But instead they found it better to remove the station off the air completely. That means they're in it for the long haul. No, not just them. WFSB Hartford, a CBS affiliate, which broadcasts in reverse of WJLP, did file objection. They broadcast over UHF 33 but virtual ch 3 as they have been for decades. Another CBS station, KYW in Philly, also comes on virtual ch 3, UHF 26. Both stations claimed overlap with WJLP, which there probably isn't much of, on virtual 3. WJLP tried to use 3.10, but the FCC never granted that. ION/WPXN NYC also filed a complaint, because they use channel 3 on Cablevision systems. The reason for their complaint is that the FCC tries to avoid OTA stations winding up fighting for the same channel on cable systems.

I would agree with WJLP that they're up against some big time CBS lawyers, but that's not the point. Their interpretation of the FCC rules in trying to air on 3-10 have been shot down. Move to 33 and be done with it. Sorry if that's not what they expected but they are a Johnny come lately who side stepped FCC rules to move the station across country. FCC does NOT look highly on that.

FWIW, the channel is not airing on FIOS currently because WJLP shut down the signal. There's a small part of CT that fringe overlaps the CT & NYC channels.. & CH 3 Hartford doesn't want "two" ch 3's in their area, even if one is 3.10 vs 3.1 ...

I see FIOS channel 3/503 now shows "Programming on this channel is no longer available. Your FIOS TV service is working."

I read the FCC letters posted at pmcmtv.com. I'm no lawyer, but the FCC made it very clear on Oct 23 what needs to be done and pmcmtv DID NOT FOLLOW the simple request. Just because pmcmtv interprets the law differently does not entitle pmcmtv to violate FCC requests and complain the big bad CBS and ION Networks shut you down. I use WMC for my TV and us My Channel Logo's to add logos to the guide. It can auto populate the channels it has logos for and then if you want you can add your own logo for channels that don't have a logo in the database or customize a logo if you prefer. One day I went through and used a couple sites to find the logos and add probably 20-25 logos that were missing in my guide. While they may not be a big deal, they make the guide look much nicer having a logo vs just text stating the station name. Me TV was one of the channels I actually added a logo for.
