Re: Firmware revision? It did the update automatically a minute or so after I went through the initial configuration screens.
One thing I notice already that I do not like: I haven't found a way to setup any custom firewall rules. The granularity for setting rules was something I really liked about the admin interface on the Actiontecs.
Maybe I'm overlooking it; still poking around. |

After firmware update, I keep getting a blinking WiFi light (blue or fast blinking red).
This was after auto update to 0.26.29. The network devices page is also screwed up in that it does not show all connected devices (some wired and some wireless). Looks like they added guest wireless network. |

Are you getting the blinking Wi -Fi lights (blue and red)? What do they indicate? |

I decided not to wait and forced an update by using "reset to defaults." Good news is this caused the update to happen.
I save the config before starting. The bad news is the restoring the config file after the update didn't recover my static DHCP assignments.
So, be careful if you force an update using "reset to default." You'll loose static DHCP assignments. I've not idea what else isn't really saved. |

Have you tried rebooting it or even a hard reset? Seems weird you're seeing the lights flash yet everything's working. |

Re: Quantum Gateway Routersaid by johnnyboy24:I tried to do a manual reset so I can get the new firmware, however no dice. "Reset" does not trigger an update. "Reset to defaults" does. Be aware that the config file may not save all setting. Good Luck. |

Re: Firmware revision?None of my Apple devices can resolve local hosts. Can someone all check if they can ping a host on your local network by name from a apple device. |

Wasn't sure what was going on at first, I just got a firmware revision pushed to my router. Now I am having a lot of trouble with my wireless. My 2.4ghz and ethernet are fine, but my 5ghz barely works or doesn't work at all.
My Nexus 7, PC and Laptop can still see the 5ghz, but the signal is very weak and the connection is very slow/unstable. My cellphone cannot see the 5ghz connection at all (even standing next to the router) and my Xbox One (10 feet from router, in line of sight) is having trouble with DHCP, so it cannot connect over 5ghz anymore either.
The router seems to no longer have "N-Only Mode" (which I was using only because I have no AC devices). Also instead of having 40mhz bandwidth it is now at 80mhz. I am unsure if the channel has changed, I had it set to auto previously. I can't return to my earlier settings.
Any advice would be appreciated! |

I had this 5ghz problem as well and it was driving me nuts. After countless reboots and changes to settings I finally fixed it by switching from automatic to another channel. I have no idea why it wouldn't work on auto.
I also had all of my static DHCP assignments deleted when the update was pushed. |

Re: Quantum Gateway RouterWoke up this morning to find the computer saying the network changed to public (Ethernet connection). I checked and the upgrade came through overnight.
All wireless signals appear about the same based on a Nexus 7.
So far things seem normal. |

Reports are coming in that the upgrade zaps all static DHCP leases. Happened to me. A save/restore of config data before and after the upgrade didn't recover static assignments either.
If you use static DHCP leases, be prepared.
They may be other settings that get reset. |

As of 1/23 our customers who have the FiOS Quantum Gateway router will now have access to a number of new parental controls and guest Wi-Fi capabilities. With this latest router update, parents can easily grant or restrict Internet access to any device on their home FiOS network. Additionally, parents are now able to set daily time limits on network-connected devices for management of screen-time.
The update will be rolling out over the next few days to residential and small-business customers who already have the FiOS Quantum Gateway.
Parental Controls
Manage children's Internet usage on a per device basis so you can minimize binge TV watching! Establish parental control rules conveniently from the MyFiOS App, whether you're home on the go Grant or limit Internet access for any connected device in your home which is perfect during final exam and PSAT preparation. Set daily or weekly time limits on any connected device in your home.
Guest Wi-Fi
Grant guests access to your home or business Wi-Fi through an independent guest network connection. Guest users are able to access the guest Wi-Fi network with their own username and password. FiOS guest Guest Wi-Fi networks are made secure with WPA2 encryption as well. FiOS customers no longer have to grant guests access to their private home or business networks. They can simply see the visiting device and grant access. |

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but if Verizon delivered two routers by mistake, is there a way to use both of them (i.e. one in the basement, one on the second floor)?.
Thank you for any help you can provide. |

I got the update. Where's the DMZ Host? I can't seem to find it. |

Re: Firmware revision?I was able to resolve my issues. Thanks for the idea "yo".
Forcing the 5ghz to use channel 153 resolved my issues for most devices, yet the Xbox One was still unable to connect. The router seemed to be misidentifying the Xbox as different devices such as an internet connected TV or my laptop, which were both turned off.
I tried changing the name of my 5ghz network, and I rebooted the router, but then the router itself was unable to connect to the internet. So I decided to reset the router to its factory default (which is now the new firmware).
Since a few different things seemed to go wrong for me, I am not entirely sure exactly what happened. It is very possible the Xbox itself was the source of difficulty. |

Something to add to the 5GHz problem. I'm seeing (I think) 2 signals on the same channel. I don't recall seeing this before. Using a Nexus with WIFI app and laptop with inSSIDer. Both show the same thing. One has an SSID the other doesn't. I changed from 149 to 153 and it followed. Anyone else notice this? EDIT:

Yep, 2 5G streams
Weird. Don't know if it suppose to be like that. Never saw it until the update. |

Same for me. Seeing 2. |
