Mike said WoW forum will be closed if participation remains low.
^ The above is a complete lie, but now that you're here, state what you think Blizzard is doing well with the expansion, or what you feel will be ruined.
Shoulda squashed DPS healthpools down to around 12-15k and tanks up at 20k. So by the last tier of this expac tanks would be sitting at 30-32k and DPS healthpools around 22-25k. Also that would be DPS around late TBC early Wrath numbers, so thats about 4k-9k for the expansion. I just feel like its still too big.
I think Blizz believes that people will freak even worse and leave if they still aren't doing "mega" numbers so sub-10k dps is too low (just a guess/opinion). I like the direction they are moving with raiding, moving a little closer to wrath where raiding was more open than vanilla/tbc but not the buffet it is now.
It all looks pretty good in fairness. My only major concerns are:
1. Not flying from the start.
Minor thing in reality, but for an altoholic being able to quickly traverse dailies etc. on my main before slogging to max on the next alt is super nice. Might be a non-issue, but from the outset, it puts me off.
2. Garrisons
From being "optional" they now look to be a major part. Whilst doing it on one toon is awesome, the thought of having to do them on all my profession alts in order to remain competetive is less appealing. Yeah sure I had 5 farms, but I staggered them and wasn't punished for not having them.
3. The inevitable resto shaman nerf.
Every expansion it has apparantly been the same, resto shamans suck in the first patch, go on to be middle of the road in the next, and then finally top the pack in the last tier. With 1 less tier this time round, I'm worried my class of choice will struggle.

It just takes a little while to get use to. One month after the item squish of that magnitude, nobody would care.
I am worried about the effect item squish will have on my ability to solo-farm old content; that strangely is a large part of the fun I get from the game. If it is still doable then I am perfectly happy.
PROS: - New models - New content, quests - Trimming of abilities. I don't fathom why people think having 32 buttons makes them "more skilled". Skill lies in positioning and knowing WHEN to hit said buttons. - Addition of strong boxes in PvP - I like that even if you lose, and still complete objectives, you have a chance to get better rewards - No flying. Don't get me wrong, flying around is fun, but I'm in the camp that it has ruined immersion, especially when it is allowed at launch (aka Cata) - Stat squish (they should have done more, imo) - New group activity finder tool - this looks very promising CONS: - Really, really unbalanced PvP - this is a feature of every new expansion, but this one appears to be really bad, with melee maintaining all their retarded MoP burst + their gap closers, insta-interrupts and stuns, while casters lose everything and do 10k damage per 2 second cast.

One of Blizzards main goals is to return to MLG, which would mean significant balance changes. Whether or not they're capable of doing it, I don't know. However, at least it is something they're vocally aiming for.
+12 interwebs points to Mike for not locking the thread.
I am guessing with the 3's bracket? I always thought 5's was too hard to watch and 2's can be really gimmicky. Could be possible with CC changes but it I am not sure it will pull an audience any more.
That makes sense, Snuff. MoP has been a wizardcleave expansion for Pvp for 3's for sure. Not balanced at all in that regard, there is like 500 melee in the top 5,000 3's players last time I checked. I just seems like they do wild swings in balance, and end up on one extreme or the other.
Do you avoid PTR patch notes, item pruning, racial changes, and stat squish details as well?
No, but until it actually goes live and I can experience it I don't know how I'll feel. Pet Battles is a good example. For me it sounded like Pokemon and I didn't think I'd enjoy it at all. Now that I'm going it I find it to be a fun diversion.
I do like the increased stack size on mats.
Any class and gear changes I won't be able to comment on until I play them.

This is a great example of how I feel people take this game entirely too seriously.
MoP hasn't been an incredible expansion, but certainly a large improvement to Cata. Before MoP was released many people ripped on the "Pokemon" and "Kung Fu Panda" aspects of the game. This is coming from someone that doesn't collect or battle pets - I don't enjoy it but still believe it was a successful implementation into the game.
So I respect your decision to withhold true judgement until the game drops. However, what I'm looking for are just opinions based on what's been provided by Blizzard.
To keep the WoW forum from being closed of course...

I admit I was one of the folks that ripped on the kung fu pandas aspect before MOP went live, and the poke-battles. I am still not a huge fan of the pandas, but the pet battle thing is actually quite cool. I love hunting rare stuff (Frostbitten, bloddy rare, all the spirit beasts and rare hunter pets, etc.) so I liked having some more rare stuff to find (I had 3 rare Minfernals when people were still thinking they were bugged and didnt exist). Now that I have all these pets, I tried playing, and actually enjoy the battles. In fact, I am leveling my alts almost exclusively through wild pet battles.
