Can yo make multiple simultaneous calls using a single GV accountHello:
If you have an OBI set up with your Google Voice account and have the same GV account set up on a cloud PIAF PBX, can you make two simultaneous calls?
Thanks, |

While I don't know the answer and I only have one connection to my GV account, if I had the setup you describe, I would be inclined to try it. Do you have access to that setup? |

I think you can but not sure. Please keep us posted once you find out. |

I wouldn't think that cloud PBX instance vs. local machine (bare metal or VM) would make a difference as to whether you can do what you describe or not. I hope it works, but from what I have read GV can be finicky when you chance IP addresses, which you would surely be doing. Although, for my part, I have never had a problem using a single instance of GV virtually anywhere in the world... |

Interesting. I did some tests:
I used the feature that allows one to make a GV call from within GMail. This is the mechanism to make a direct call; it does not involve callback. I called my backup cellphone. Then, while that call was still active, I used my Obi100 to place a call to my main cellphone. Both calls were active simultaneously, both with good quality and bidirectional audio. These calls were placed from devices within the same IP.
Then, I switched my laptop connection over to a WiMax hotspot so as to obtain a different IP. I placed a GV call from within the desktop GMail portal to my backup cellphone. While that call was still active I used my Obi100 to place a call to my main cellphone. Both calls were active simultaneously, both with good quality and bidirectional audio, even though placed from devices on different IPs.
Based on this, I don't see why, @RobThompson, you couldn't make two simultaneous calls, one from your OBI set up with your Google Voice account, and another using the same GV account set up on a cloud PIAF PBX. |

It appears two simultaneous Google Voice calls is a limit imposed by Obihai, not by Google Voice. From my Asterisk system, I can make three simultaneous calls using the same Google Voice account. |
