BHTV on PC black screen, no audio

Good day,

I have been chatting with bright house reps online but they have been little to no help. I had hoped someone could offer suggestions:
BHTV, menu appears on top - "live tv, channels, etc" but black screen below, no audio.

i5 4430 CPU
8GB ddr3 RAM
Radeon 7700 series gpu

what I have done:
rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled silverlight, manually updated and rebooted my asus router, used google chrome and explorer. Drivers updated...not sure what else I can try

Yes I mentioned that in the OP, used explorer and chrome. I am on my home network and it was working fine yesterday. Nothing changed with my configuration, it's baffling

Just to elaborate if it helps...

set up is a home, BH modem, asus router, set up by BH assistance, all runs well. My machine is hard wired in. I have a small digital converter box in my room, the DVR is in the master bedroom. Yesterday the small cable converter box frizzed out but surely that wouldn't hurt my computer connection since they are not connected to the same thing right?
But I was watching the live tv and it was fine and then this morning, nothing

Do me a favor and place your PC IP in the Asus routers DMZ and test again please. Something is chewing on my ear about a bit of port issue that looks identical to this and I want to rule it out...thanks.

ok, I did that, enabled dmz, entered ip, disabled everything you mentioned and got the same results.

When I log into the bhtv function on my computer, it defaults to live tv, I see the black screen, and for a split second the bright house splash in the middle "loading" but it's only for a very quick quarter of a second or less, then black screen, like something is stopping it. i double checked firewalls, etc too.

And this is all channels so if you try to go to another you see nothing but black screen?

Correct. For example when I go to the "guide" tab, the loading channels splash pops up and the channel listing appears, when I hover over channel 7 (abc) and select watch on pc, black screen...

Glad to see I'm not the only one having this issue.
It's been going on for quite some time(well over a year) and I have just pretty much stopped trying to get it to work.
I have the exact same problem on Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
All are the 64bit editions and running on Windows 7 64.
I even tried on the 32bit version of Chrome as well.
I can do everything but watch live tv.
I can see and control the DVRs.
(My favorite thing to do is annoy my kids by changing the channel on the DVR my kids are watching using the Guide )
The is no picture, audio, or even the guide that pops up to the left of the screen.
I've read that some think it is an issue with silverlight and some say it could be DRM issues.
Nothing seems to work in fixing it.

Yeah, I think it's silverlight too but what throws me is the fact that the rest of the web app works fine its just the live tv that does not. I think that is why I read something about a possible DRM issue. That was a while ago when I first started having issues and haven't looked for answers since.

The BHTV web app did work before but then it started doing what it does now. I have since moved to a new address and it still does not work correctly.

I take that back, it did work once for a few hours around the time we got our speed boost here in CFL and then went back to not functioning.

I'm not too stressed about it as the logo clearly labels it as being beta.
The BHTV app for android works fine for me so I just prop up the tablet next to the computer and use that while surfing.

Side idea, as I'm betting with the others that Silverlight is causing issues, any issues getting Netflix?
I'm not sure if it is using it for browser mode, but it does for plugins like with WMC. Went through a similar issue with it when it corrupted and had to go through 'fixing' the DRM controls (had to uninstall silverlight, backup and delete some registry values it left around, and revert it back to have playback on old recordings) it was putting in place - stopped live tv signals from getting through on the tuner card too.

Nice thought, however Netflix runs great for me. It runs fine for me if I use silverlight or HTML5.
That is why I'm puzzled. It just seems to be only the BHTV web app that it having issues.
