[iPhone] Switching from Android to iPhone 6 need a mileage app.I've been using Mileage by Evan Charlton on Android for the last 3 almost 4 years. The app isn't available for the iPhone. I'm hoping there's a compatible app that can import the data I can export from the android app. Anybody here ever dealt with this? |

Had the same problem going from iPhone to Moto X. I had to just start over. The year is almost over. You might just want to carry your old phone around a few more days. |

Fuelly - and I think it's for both iOS and Andriod. Not sure about imports |

I use Road Trip on my iPhone and it's capable of importing CSV files. If your Android app can export to CSV it might work for you. Edit: The app developer has a CSV conversion tool on his website: » darrensoft.ca/roadtrip/c ··· dex.html |

Thanks for the input. I'm getting the iPhone on Jan 2. I have a wifi only iPad or I can also experiment using my wife's iPhone 4S and give Road Trip a test run. My android mileage app can export in CSV format. How do yu import on an iOS device. Just from an e-mail attachment perhaps? |

I guess I should have clicked on the provided links about Road Trip which explains how to import. Thanks again. |

I'm not sure how paid iPhone apps work with multiple phones. If I install the full version of Road Trip on my wife's phone for $6.99, will I have to pay again to put it on my new phone. Both installations will be using the same apple ID? If the app works I don't mind paying for each install. |

If you use the same Apple ID, then you don't pay for each device, just once. There's also Family Sharing so that you don't pay twice and can use different Apple IDs. » www.apple.com/ios/whats- ··· sharing/ |

May want to do family share over same Apple ID. A friend and his wife share an ID (pre-family share) and every so often iMessage confuses them. Downside is not every app can be shared |

Definitely do family sharing instead of sharing one apple ID. We've been sharing apple IDs (family share didn't used to be an option), and it's a huge pain in the butt every time you upgrade IOS. Everybody has to re-pick which iMessage email address they want to be able to see. AirDrop also has bugs and shows the wrong person. Then all of us get alert-texts about everyone's other devices that were added. Ugh.
Now with hand off, ALL of our devices ring at the same time when a call comes in, regardless of your iMessage settings.
It feels like Apple used to support it and as we move forward they don't support it correctly (probably because we have Family Sharing to solve that problem now). |

Not to hijack the thread -
We recently had to give up our corporate phones. Except the on call phone. My team elected to keep an iPhone 5.
For the record, I hate it. But I won't delve into that here.
I want to get it to the App Store so I can grab some corporate apps (Lync, etc). But the phone insists on me putting in a credit card. There's no way I'm doing that on a shared phone. Even if I can remove it later.
I went and created an Apple ID for the phone on Apple's web site to try to get around it. And found there used to be an option in the payment screen of "no credit card" or some such.
Is there a way to get around this requirement? It seems a bit presumptuous that one will only spend money at the app store, thus requiring a credit card on start up.
Roku does the same thing. But at least they have a way around it. |

First hit from Google (how to create an apple id without a credit card):» support.apple.com/en-us/HT204034There's a link in there to a page (» support.apple.com/en-us/HT203905) that mentions: If you're using the iTunes Store or App Store for the first time If you're using the store for the first time with an existing Apple ID, you must provide a payment method. After you create the account, you can change your payment information to None. |

I got my iPhone 6 today. I downloaded the $6.99 Road Trip app and was able to import all the data from the android mileage app. I'll be able to pick up right where I left off tracking my mileage. Thanks for the help!! |
