IIRC, recent firmware pushes to modem/routers limited them to only the basic modem stats accessible to the customer. |

joemotsinge, we are not able to see our customers web activity, just the total usage, the same information we make available to our customers via the usage tracker. If you have any further questions, feel free to shoot me an IM with your account or phone number. |

Its their equipment. They have no requirement to provide this info. If you want better network control/management/reporting, install your own networking equipment. |

I have a question. How is Mediacom able to verify Digital Millennium Act stuff, if they can't see specific customer activities...seems pretty slimy they would accept blind requests to shut down peoples accts, if no proof existed. Surely they are able to see customer activity... |

It's not Mediacom that sees your activity, but the so-called rights owners (3rd-party scum that works for labels, studio, etc.) scour applications like bittorrent, capture your IP address to something that you might be sharing, look up the service provider associated to the IP, then submit a DMCA request to said provider. Your provider, Mediacom in this case, then forwards the notice to the subscriber that was assigned that IP. |

implode , RyanThaDude is correct. The information is provided to us by the content providers based on IP address and we forward the notification to the customer that is assigned that particular IP. |

That last sentence says a lot. |

Does that surprise you? I can almost guarantee every other ISP out there has a clause like that in their ToS. |
