They look like large metal cabinets on the side of the road. Here's what mine in PA on Verizon looks like.

Not sure what they might look like in WV! Mine is fed with fiber, and my attenuation is about 30 dB, and Verizon refuses to offer anything higher than 3 Mbps. "just because" if you ask me why the reason is.

Can't be Verizon. There is no black trash bag!

My place is in WI--but the location is such (limited roads) that it should be relatively easy for me to find such stuff...

I have also seen 5 gallon buckets carved out to fit over the splice tubes. Here in WV we just build a roof with 4 post holding it up over the remote. I guess that has more class.

Nope! Guess Verizon is somewhat "on the hook" in PA so they try to do it properly! This was built from the ground up.

FWIW the Frontier ad I responded to stated "up to 6Mbps" and at least according to my 7550 my Down is set to 3712Kbps and 448 up. Seems to me that testmy.net revealed only 1.2M down and 400K up which I was inclined to complain about at first, but with everything else I had to do up there along with getting Internet going, and the fact that Facetime and my security cams work just fine, I've let it go at least for the time being. Maybe when we're up there this summer I'll feel differently about it and call them. Let me know if you have success finding local tech contacts cuz I'm sure they'd be the same for me!
