Bright House Networks - Legacy → [CFL] Brighthouse app

Can someone explain why the Brighthouse app will work on a tablet but not on a Nexus player/ADT-1 or any other android box? I pay for my service, should I not be able to watch it on any platform I own?

The app is available on many devices but to expect it on every device is a bit much. It needs to be viable for BH to put the resources into developing the app for different platforms and devices.

I am the first that will criticize BH, but I also understand the time and effort that goes into developing apps for different platforms. I would put in a request for support for those devices (if in fact there isn't support for it already) and the more that do this the higher the likelihood of getting it in the future.

The app would work just fine if they removed the lock on using it with a hdmi cable plugged in. So I can watch on my tablet but not output it to a second screen. I don't see the need for this at all.

The app is not intended for stand alone Android boxes. Your expectation that it work on all things Android is unrealistic. Android as a solid platform is a mess (thanks Google) and there is no reasonable way to ensure compatibility with every single Android device with this platform. As for the stand alone box thing...again not the intended use nor have we ever promoted it as such.
