As an aside, keep AAP's coupon codes in mind when buying stuff like batteries.. they can save you a lot of money (and they install quite a few things free as well). Order online and simply pickup in store. It's worked well for me.

Did you rerun your vehicle's battery on the AAP website with the coupon code and still get $150 after coupon for an Autocraft Gold?

It's your money and you are free to buy whatever you wish, but I am curious if there really is a $45ish spread between your area pricing and my area. That just seems very wide...

The Chrysler dealership wanted almost $200 for battery with installation. The AAP battery had a better warranty and more CCA.

Every situation is different I guess.

By the way, instead of buying a can of CRC battery cleaner - just get a box of baking soda from the back of the fridge and mix it with water if the cables are corroded. Spray bomb commercial battery cleaners are a waste of money, containing little more than what your home mix will have and the homemade stuff is just as effective if not more so.

As an aside, I like to use CRC Battery Cleaner on the terminals and the battery box (and the battery itself if doing a cleaning/servicing) followed by a coating of either CRC Battery Terminal Protector or Amsoil HD Metal Protector on the freshly connected terminals. I use felt washers as well. This method keeps corrosion to a bare minimum (if any at all). And I like how the CRC Cleaner turns from yellow to a bright pink if any acid is detected (and it neutralizes it at the same time). Much easier and better than baking soda and water.
