Bruce Campbell will reprise his role as the title character Ash, a stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the past three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its evil grip.

The casting, which brings the actress back to the Starz fold, reunites Lawless with Ash producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert on after previously teaming on Xena: Warrior Princess and Spartacus as well as features Spider-Man and Boogeyman.
This series is starting to sound rather interesting.
I am a huge Evil Dead fan. My childhood best friend and I watched the Evil Dead and Dead by Dawn countless times and went and saw Army of Darkness at the theater opening night (which was a good thing because I think it only lasted a weekend there).
I remember I had to special order the VHS when Army of Darkness was released on video; they didn't even have a rental copy. Ash as played by Bruce Campbell is one of my favorite characters ever. So it's safe to say I'm a tad bit excited for this TV show. Can't wait.
Never watched the original, but I might check this one out.
So you watched the other two movies then? Evil Dead 2 and Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness?
The first one was the easiest to take seriously IMO because of how it was written and executed given the technology of the times. The other two got a little silly at times (that is to say that they didn't seem to take themselves as seriously).
