iNum down?

Several tests indicate that I cannot contact either my CallCentric or voip.ms iNum numbers today (3/14). Others experiencing the same?

BTW, can you port-out an iNum? Can you buy vanity iNums?

I can confirm iNum connectivity both via iNum URI, iNum DID and dial-in numbers are down completely system wide as it makes no difference between where you got your iNum from.

From our past experience, we have to wait until at least Monday to have service restored.

The weekly weekend iNum outage. Brought to you by Voxbone.

I wish they'd take my suggestion and make iNum allocations DNS (and maybe also EPP) based instead of routing them through their own servers.

Voxbone.com ITSELF is down !!!

It's not just you! »voxbone.com looks down from here.

Maybe they merged with Teleblend---which would finally be a true Tele Blend.

Should the new company be called VoxBlend, or TeleBone? Or maybe BoneBlender?

Hmm, non-iNUM voxbone DIDs are still working, and ironically www.inum.net is still up.

It is Monday, and normal working hours should have ended for Voxbone. However, as of yet, iNum connectivity has not been restored.

It would be really nice if Voxbone finally decided what they want and either fix this thing or quit.
BTW my impression is that they still make some money on it- a slice of the termination charges into their access numbers . Termination costs in most of the countries where they have access numbers are, or at least used to be, higher than in US metro exchanges.

I agree with cb14 . I think even for metropolitan exchanges within United States, their partner CLECs bandwidth.com may still charge higher inter-carrier compensation that is why magicApp would not allow users to call any of their dial-in numbers in United States for free.

Just tried calling Voxbone..... customer service claims to be unaware of the outage!

I reported the outage a couple of days ago using the contact form, but I never got any reply.

They are probably telling the truth.

1) Blissfully oblivious.

2) People are used to it being down.

3) It's such a failure that no one bothered to contact them anyway.

I can reach the iNum echo test, if and only if I dial in to one of Voxbone's access numbers. Via SIP it is completely unreachable. sip.inum.net does not respond to invites - period. No 1XX, no error code, nothing. It is as if their gateway itself is offline.

Interestingly, when I called them up, the representative said that she could call the iNum echo test number without a problem. This would seem consistent with their sip gateway to the outside world being down, but everything else functional.

I'm half tempted (ok, more than half tempted) to request an iNum allocation directly, just so I can open a ticket as a direct customer..

I have tested every day since making the initial post. Yesterday and the day before I was able to contact the iNum issued to me by CallCentric by dialing the full +88351000 number through Google Hangouts (paid call). I just completed that same type of call within the last few minutes today. That number has not been reachable by SIP URI. The iNum issued by voip.ms has been consistently unreachable during the entire period each time I tried by whatever method. I am not a FaceBook user but noticed a few days ago that someone had posted about the outage on the iNum FaceBook page. Hard to imagine they would be unaware of a problem.

All you get is a web portal and no contact info other than what is already public. No advantage as far as support goes.

Progress???
3:07pm Thursday
Got the iNum issued by voip.ms to ring on a call originated from Google Hangouts - first time since Friday the 13th - unfortunately there appears to be a one way audio problem which has not been the case in the past.

Also dialed the iNum issued by voip.ms from a phone handset on CallCentric - not possible all week so far in my experience - got ring as with Hangouts and same one way audio.

Connects, but no audio. This is more than the usual weekend outage, it seems to be a spring break outage.

I can also confirm that iNum SIP URIs and using SIP Forever to call iNum issued by Callcentric continue fail to connect.

In contrast, using SIP Forever to call iNum issued by Voxox, ippi and SIP Forever work fine.

Calls to iNum test numbers fail, but the iNum phone number for Voxbone's own headquarters [does] work.

Just using SIP Forever to make test calls to iNum issued by Callcentric, Voxox and ippi, all failed to connect.

Yet, using dial-in numbers in United States to call all iNum numbers work fine.

Therefore, I think now it is SIP Forever having problem.

I opened help tickets with both CallCentric and voip.ms Friday afternoon. Each responded that I am not the only subscriber experiencing iNum problems and each indicated that they have been in contact with Voxbone and that no improvement is expected until some action takes place on Voxbone's end. I used the contact form on the Voxbone site to report my problem/concern. No response to that communication.
