Comcast XFINITY → [CDV] Can't make local phone calls in Quincy Illinoi Fixed around noon

can't make or receive local phone calls on comcast phone since yesterday, when I called yesterday they said it would be fixed last night. when I call it rings and all I hear is my own voice echoing back, and the person I call just hears static.

The only trouble I have ever had goes the other way ... they can hear me but I can't hear them.

This has always fixed that problem for me. Using the bottom end of a wooden match stick to reset (small hole on the back of the modem) the modem has always worked. I used to use the end of a paper clip but read somewhere not to use a metal device.

Before doing that I make sure all the cable connections are snug.

AS suggested -reboot your modem -does it change? if not contact comcast again --Repeat as needed

Comcast fixed it, (it was only area code 217 that wasn't working) right after I posted here it started working again
