Noticed some resolution issues last night but I'm not sure if it was isolated to just Google name servers. Didn't bother trying other common name servers.

it was both TWC and Google dns servers for me.

Much of Google's services went down, as did TWC dns for me

Twc dns was out for about 20 minutes or so. Google took more time even more time to restore other services..

Something sure did happen

Yep, me and a bunch of friends had the same thing occur. TWC and Google DNS were failing for everyone. Me and my friends who had the same issues are spread throughout California. Must've been pretty serious...

I don't know if it's related, but recently I had some difficulties trying to resolve Google addresses, something in my system logs about DS records (delegation signer) being invalid. Maybe there was a glitch in DNSSEC (because that's what DS records are for).

If DNSSEC is related, I noticed over the course of a day or two many sites also throwing up SSL messages about certificates being invalid/expired on a few ISPs in this area. Something happened.

The only tie (I know of) between DNSSEC and TLS certs would be DANE. And I don't think DANE is even a standard yet, it's only a draft. Scratch that ...looks like it's RFC 6698

Do any of you all know if TWC uses the same DNS servers for Residential and Business Class? I think it's the same DHCP servers for both. I've been using 8.8.8.8 on my teleworker plan at home for so long, I'm not even sure which servers get assigned if I left it to TWC's default.

I have had trouble with www.ebay.com failing to load and sometime I would have to go to a search engine and click on the eBay link for their webpage to load. It is intermittent does not happen all the time.

I thought it was me. OpenDNS BTW is also affected. Watching Netflix Wednesday night it buffered at the end of the program and got stuck at 25% at exactly 12 midnight EDT then sites were slow. Then Thursday at 12 midnight at midnight Netflix played okay but it got cruddy in quality. It started out like mud and then after going on the computer websites crawled to a snail. I reset my modem and rebooted my router and it was still slow yet websites and audio streams with a direct IP address loaded fine so I knew it was a DNS issue. I then changed my OpenDNS to 208.67.222.220, and secondary GoogleDNS at 8.8.4.4.

Again last night at midnight my internet was fine and websites loaded great but then checking my DNS resolver it switched over to GoogleDNS at midnight. Now this morning by DNS is back to the primary OpenDNS address.
