Helios posted : How about you stop complaining and learn the difference between asynchronous connections and synchronous connections. They call it 'A'DSL for a reason. If you're saturating your upload speed, of course you're going to have higher latency. The same could be said for any kind of connection, if you are oblivious to traffic management and let things run hog wild in your home (uTorrent 24/7 for example).

Have you once done a tracert to the gaming servers to see who is at fault? I highly doubt it. I'm taking a bet and guessing that you are playing on an eastern server, which has no peering agreement with TELUS. Also, do these speed test servers have peering agreements with TELUS? If not, well your testing methodology is going to be busted because you're being limited by the speed and quality of the other ISP's network.

Last not but not least, you have not mentioned once what your gaming setup is. Are you using a PC or a console? If it's a console, then all that traffic is going to be routed through XBL or PSN, and that also adds latency.

To be blunt, you need to be more educated on how this stuff works instead of blaming the ISP for every single network performance issue you come across.

{end rant};

Most people I know are getting close to 350-400ms bufferbloat on upload tests so don't act like "there must not be a problem," even 100ms seconds is far too high. The buffer size the way it is now is only good for uploading files where you won't really notice spikes in latency, but video chatting is very poor because of the bufferbloat on the upstream and the same goes for online gaming. These are applications people are using now more than ever before, but Telus acts like people that use the internet for gaming and video calls are a small part of their demographics and so they do not need to worry about the quality. When I call in and talk to tech that is what I am told. I am a Telus customer so I am complaining about Telus, but from what I see and hear all companies are dismissive and this behaviour is loop hole in net neutrality and it needs to be plugged.
