Yes, if you stay in the Insider program your O/S will continue to be updated with "beta" releases. If you leave the program your O/S will eventually expire.

On the other hand if you have Win 7/8/8.1 then you can update for free for 1 year, starting July 29.

You sure about that? They specifically stated insiders can opt out once upgraded on the 29th. I don't think it's meant to be a permanent free path and have never seen that stated anywhere from a MS source.

While the legal language has changed they still came out afterwards and said clean installed TPs will be upgraded. It sounds like it's a we trust you offering. Besides, the program has been an integral part of the development process.
