Re: about the new logo

Is what I see on my 24" at 1080p. It's not crisp and the icons looked blurred around the edges because of the gradient background. I realize none of this is final, I'm just pointing it out.

if it isnt crisp I think it might be a browser issue. Its double res: 450px native, and looks crisp on the screens I have access to.

Since a 450px has to be resized by the browser it is possible some dont do a good job at it.

Could be. If that's the case it should be experienced across the board for said browser.

For the record, I'm using the latest version of Chrome. At both home and work where I'm noticing the non-crispyness.

I'm using IE11 (computers) and Safari (iOS) on which I do see the crispness.

That's why folks spend the BIG bucks on quality video cards. You can have a $1000 monitor and it will still look like crap with a 10 cent video card running it. Just sayin'........

My GTX 960 SSC is hardly a 10 cent video card. I guess while you were busy thinking up your witty reply, you failed to notice it was already determined the browser was not scaling properly and is an issue across multiple hardware.

Just making a statement. Nothing personal. Sorry if my post made you feel inadequate............

Really?
Who determined that.
I put it out there as a suggestion - however I don't currently see a blur issue with any browser I have available, excepting IE which I have not tried. I did check the PNG, it is 450px and the width is 225px so it should not be exactly a challenge for a browser to scale down.

I don't recall saying that you determined that. I'm assuming you've been following the thread in it's entirety and seen the discussion with regards to Chrome not rendering/scaling correctly.

Either way, the issue continues for me across more than one machine. The logo is not "crisp" for me. That being said, in Chrome on my Nexus 5 if I pull the site up in full desktop mode, the logo is very crisp and it doesn't become distorted unless I zoom in pretty far.

For me, currently, Chrome is doing fine, and so is Safari.

Firefox is the odd one out, and that apparently is what comes up frequently when I search browser PNG blur.

Ok so where does that leave us then? If you're experiencing it in Firefox (as are others according to this thread) and I'm experiencing it in Chrome (as are others in this thread) where does it go from here?

I don't know, I'd like to see a blow-up like I've posted of that part of a fiber icon as rendered by a browser, before concluding anything. And when I say firefox seems to be less crisp, the difference is very slight at normal viewing size. I can still clearly see the 5 strands of fiber, and the cross hatching on the coax.

rendering : optimizeSpeed

rendering : optimizeQuality

Also one persons blur may be another persons ideal.

Look at these two. Both safari. One with CSS optimizeQuality one with CSS optimizeSpeed.
