[Internet] SMC 16x4 with voice and BBU compatible? San Antonio TWCI accidentally purchased the wrong modem for my new MAXX 200/20 service that will be installed Monday. I purchased this modem: » www.ptsupply.com/shop/el ··· ce-w-bbuAnyone know if this will work? I guess I can test it out and have a backup netgear from best buy (sell them locally) if it doesn't work. I don't need the voice function. I should receive the modem Wednesday and would be happy to take screenshots or get any info from the modem before my Monday install. |

Well its a 16x4 modem and you need a 16x4 modem for maxx. so assuming TW could add it to their system it should work perfectly. |

I know the SMC D3CM1604 - Data Only modem, IS compatible with TWC as I've used it on their network. This modem is the same with the MTA built into it, not sure if they will allow that version, whether you want phone or not. Call em' up and give them the mac address, see if they can add it to your account to verify. |

Should work fine; I used to use a SB6180... Yes 6180; and it worked fine. |

Got the modem in and installed but not getting the speed I am signed up for, 200/20. Can anyone have a look at the modem stats and help? Is this a modem issue or a line quality issue? Time Warner has ran me through 2 hours worth of troubleshooting and it seems they all make me reboot and I have to go back to another rep and explain it all again. |

You need a tech out at your home, your downstream is high; and upstream is too low. Complain for a tech over the phone. |

You're using the D3CM1604 (with or without voice) modem right? On mine, I notice that their downstream signal levels are much higher than a regular motorola modem, whether its just poor reporting on the modems side or what. With a SB6141, I'd receive about 3.5 dBmV signals, or negative, I forget which. But with the SMC D3CM1604, same cable connection with the SB unplugged, the signals would be up in the 8 or 9 range. Had no issues though. |

So it turns out the SMC modem with voice won't get me speeds past 118 down 12 up with time warner cable. I replaced this modem with one of the approved models (netgear) and I am getting 230+ down and 24+ up. Returning the SMC and keeping the netgear. |

Sounds like they may not have a proper config file for the voice modem portion of that model. The data sheets show 640 Mbps down and 120 Mbps up. |

Did you get your D3CM1604V400NA? If so did you get it up and running with Maxx, and if so what speeds are you getting? |

Never got it to speeds above 118 down and 12 up. Once I bought the "approved" modem I now get 230 down and 25 up. I guess the modem with the bbu doesn't work with maxx |

What is the "bbu"? Did you talk to TWC CS? What did they tell you? |
